Even fruits being the healthiest, and even after eating the healthiest fruits available on the planet and internet, many people fail to get the complete nutrition from them & feel the following side effects.

  • Lethargy or fatigue
  • Digestive problems (fruit fibers don’t work)
  • Skin allergy
  • Graying of hairs
  • Hair fall

So what’s wrong? Let’s see.

Treating Fruits as after meal dessert

when we think of losing weight we often ditch sugary desserts in the first place, even health-conscious people switch desserts with fruit salads. When you eat fruit after your meal you are actually messing up with your digestive system.

Understand this, when you consume fruits after a grain or meat-based meal, fruit being the lightest and highly digestible gets digested faster while grain or meat takes time. As fruit is highly digestible while other grains and meat take time to digest, our digestive system feels the pressure resulting in stomach upsets.

In our gut, when the fruit comes in the contact with other food and digestive juices, the entire mass of your main course began to spoil. the reason is that it starts fermenting, this is the reason many times people feel bloated or gassy after eating fruit or fruit-based dish after the main course.

Treating Fruits as on-the-go snacks.

canned fruits

Many health-conscious and busy people often prepare their fruit servings by cutting and storing them in the refrigerator in advance. People tend to take the fruits to their workplace because they don’t want to eat anything unhealthy while surrounded by those fancy wending machines.

You must understand when we cut fruits, it starts oxidizing making nutrients less bioavailable for the body. always remember fruits should be consumed within 20 minutes after slicing or they start losing their potency.

As fresh fruits are alkaline, when we eat stored or commercial treated fruits, it creates acidity in the body causing heartburn and making the blood more acidic leading to skin allergies and graying of hairs.

Stop Running after Instagram Fruits (Exotic ones)

The point is simple go to your local market and eat seasonal fruits. Think for a minute, there is a reason why certain fruits grow in a particular season in a particular location and climatic condition only. Always remember naturally ripe seasonal fruits are pure nectar for the body. When eaten in the proper season in the right manner the nutrient absorption is much higher than unnatural or frozen fruits.

To prevent over-ripening during the transport and export the fruits regularly to meet the overseas demand, the exotic fruits are plucked before they mature completely. Simple way, they are harvested before the time. This will make the fruit devoid of many nutrients. So, no benefits in having such fruits.

The longer fruit spends on a truck or in a storage container before being delivered to you, the greater the loss of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. The moment the fruit is picked or sliced, enzymes begin decomposing or feeding on the precious nutrients.

To keep fruits fresh and vibrant many additives are added to give color and shining glare to the fruits. Many chemicals are used to preserve these fruits from getting spoiled during transportation. Once fruits reach their destination they are again processed with many chemicals to artificially ripe them. These chemical treatments are very harmful to our health.

Drinking Fruit Juices

No, not commercial juices but fresh fruit juices which is a way more stupid move than drinking commercial juice. extracting and drinking only juice leads to nutrient deficiencies in the long term, as juices lack many important nutrients as they get removed with the pulp and fiber, and skin. Most juices involve severe calorie restriction, which is generally unsustainable in the long term and can lead to a slower metabolism.

You must understand that fruit fibers feed our good gut bacteria, keeping bowel movements regular, supporting our immune system, and allows us to feel satiated after we eat fruits with skin. The insoluble fiber found in fruits and vegetables helps bulk our stool allowing it to move swiftly through our digestive tract scraping away built-up plaque and toxins. It also slows the release of glucose which helps balance blood sugar and avoid sugar crashes- A major key when looking to build and sustain energy and achieve weight loss.

Mixing Fruits with Milk

According to the Ayurveda, milk doesn’t combine well with fruits, especially citrus fruits as milk takes longer to digest, and when you have milk and any citrus fruit together, the milk gets spoiled and gets coagulates before reaching the stomach. This can lead to gas and heartburn and other gastric disorders.

Ill effects can be chemical reactions and increased acidity in the body.

Only ripe and sweet fruits like banana, dates, and ripe mangoes can go with the milk even in moderation.

Eating Fruits as Late-Night Snack.

Even fruits are healthy, this does not mean you can eat fruit any time of the day. Our body’s ability to digest and assimilate nutrients from fruit diminishes with the sunset.

According to Ayurveda, the food should be consumed three hours before sleep. As far as fruits are considered there should be a gap between proper meals and fruits because both have different effects on the digestive system. Fruits get digested faster and are pushed from the stomach to the intestine much earlier. Meals that are especially rich in protein and fiber require much more time and gastric juices to digest. Therefore it is always advisable to take fruits early in the evening.

It is also advised to avoid having fruits right before bedtime as it can interfere with your sleep. Eating ripe fruits right before going to bed can release a lot of sugar, causing spike in energy, when your body should be preparing to slow down and rest. When we eat fruits high in sugar like mangoes and bananas it leads to weight gain instead of weight loss.

However, if a person is on diet and is hungry, one can take a fruit or two which are not so high in sugar, in order to stop craving and binging on something unhealthy.
